About Checkers the Magician

Since 2007, Checkers the Magician has been bringing laughter and amazement to children all across Dallas, Fort Worth, and North Texas. What began as a journey in clowning evolved into a full-time passion for children’s magic, and by 2012, Checkers had fully stepped into the spotlight as a kid-focused comedy magician.

Checkers’ high-energy shows are packed with interactive fun, where the kids don’t just sit and watch—they become part of the magic! From pulling surprises out of thin air to helping with hilarious tricks, every child gets a moment to shine—especially the birthday boy or girl.

And let’s not forget his mischievous little green dragon sidekick, Billy. Billy is full of surprises (and a little attitude), often creating laugh-out-loud chaos during the show as Checkers tries to keep things under control. Kids can’t get enough of their playful back-and-forth!

Each summer, Checkers rolls out brand-new tricks designed especially for daycares and libraries across the Metroplex, keeping the show fresh and exciting for returning fans.

He lives in Rockwall, Texas, but you’ll find him performing across the DFW Metroplex and beyond. A respected name in the local entertainment community, Checkers even served as President of the Mid Cities Clown Alley, a role that reflects his dedication to fun, safety, and professionalism in family entertainment.
